Hey Ya'll

Long time no write... lol

Well lets see what has happened since I last wrote.. Well nothing really.. Same stuff different day.

I turned 39 yesterday and not sure I am 100% ok with it. I mean I have no choice but still it is kinda hitting me hard. I don't feel I am where I should be at 39.  Most people my age have kids and doing "Adult Things" I just feel like I am moving through life in a haze. There is no excitement just routine. Work, Eat, Sleep and repeat. But it is what it is. lol

We had a birthday party for Steve and myself on Saturday (we share the same birthday) And only one of my friends came. She is also the only one who came last year as well. Plenty of Steve's friends came. BUT only one of mine did. Makes me kinda sad. I know people are busy and we do live far away from our friends but it still hurt my feelings.  I really want to find new friends here but I am so shy and have a hard time putting myself out there. So there is that.

Yesterday Steve and I went to a few wineries and an apple orchard in Charlottesville. We went to Carter Mountain OrchardTrump WineryBlenheim Winery and First Colony Winery. The views were amazing and so beautiful. We tasted some wonderful wines and even bought some as well..

Anyway.. This post is all over the place..
So til next time...

The Thin Blue Line....

On Saturday a Prince William Virginia Police Officer went to work on her first day and then never made it home.. She and two other officers were ambushed after receiving a call from a female who stated her husband was beating her. Little did they know when they arrived she was already dead. They did everything they had been taught to do. But when you are ambushed with an assault weapon all your training doesn't matter.

All three responding officers were shot. All were transported to the hospital, but Officer Guindon passed away. The suspect surrendered himself. It is profoundly sad that such a young officer, young person, never had a chance. One day into her career, the day after being sworn in.

This hits way too close to home.. Prince William is about 10 miles outside of my 911 center in Fairfax. And I have to drive through it to get home. A few years ago our agency was rocked when a mentally ill man gunned down two of our officers at the police station. You never know when your time is up.

How do adult women find friends??

So we just moved about 2 months ago from Fairfax to Culpeper VA and now I am an hour away from my friends. I really want to find friends that are closer but I'm not sure even how to do that.  I have checked into groups but have not found anything.

When we moved I was excited to move somewhere new and exciting but I was still sad to move away from all I knew for 37 years.... Still getting to know my surroundings and what is around.

I think with moving to a new city and my not really handling my last birthday very well I am really wishing I had friend here to do something... I feel lonely and not sure how to fix it...

SO....  How does an adult find new friends???

U2 iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE Tour 2015

So my husband Steve is a HUGE U2 fan and when they decided to tour again he was really excited until he realized they were not coming any closer to us then Madison Square Garden which is 6ish hours away from us in VA. So he was very sad they were not coming here and he wasn't going to see them. So since it was around Christmas I decided to get him tickets. (Awesome wife status right?)

So the concert was Thursday... and IT WAS AMAZING!!! Steve has seen them 21 times and I have seen them 7. This for me was the best concert of their I have seen. They played a mix of new songs and older songs. But what made the concert for me was they played my two favorite songs back to back. One of which they rarely play in concert. All I want is you and With or Without you.

And as I was writing this I was doing some reading on the concert and notice that on the U2 website that I am quoted from my twitter feed "Lisa (@princess3730) was also happy that All I Want Is You turned up: '21 shows and U2 Has never played my favorite song and they played it tonight! THANK YOU "  WHAT???? Funny thing as I was sending this to my husband he was sending it to me.. lol - If you want to read the recap here it is ~ http://www.u2.com/tour/date/id/45561346
